What it is and why it was created?
Designed and developed a centralized student learning hub to streamline how students and families accessed key information, communication channels, and classroom resources across multiple platforms.
The goal was to reduce friction, improve accessibility, and create a more connected learning experience that extended beyond the classroom.
The design also incorporated curated imagery of the classroom, local community, and surrounding city to intentionally ground the digital space in the community and the learning context students were part of. Events and opportunities featured in the hub were also personally gathered and shared to ensure relevance and alignment with students’ experiences.
This was a self-directed project that emerged from a need I identified to improve how students accessed and navigated classroom materials, community resources, and communication channels.
The digital hub brought together:
Direct links to Google Classroom and Communication channels for class and grade-specific communication
A regularly updated announcements page for important updates and reminders
Photos of classroom learning, student work, and community engagement
Community events, resources, and opportunities connected to students’ lived environments
Curated articles to extend learning and spark discussion beyond the classroom
A shared space that students and families could access
